The agricultural industry in the UK is a large employer of seasonal workers who carry out activities such as sowing, harvesting, sorting and packing. Approximately 75,000 seasonal workers are employed throughout the UK under HOPS every year. Most are full-time students aged between eighteen and twenty five. The majority, are from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union countries, some are from the Commonwealth of countries and more recently some are from China.
 

You cannot make a direct application for employment under the Harvesting Opportunities Permit Scheme HOPS on your own behalf, but rather, you have to be referred by your University or other Institute of learning.

If your learning institute doesn't already refer students for seasonal work under the Harvesting Opportunities Permit Scheme HOPS, ask your principal why?
